The way we have solve this issue is to create top level functional categories and then create sub categories for each team under the functional category.
For eg we have 4 teams (t1,t2..t4) and a category Backlog. So we created 4 subcategories under backlog and associated that with each team. This has to be repeated for each main category

This is just a work around but the problem needs to be solved in more optimal manner by the jazz team.

One more thing i noticed is that after creating subcategories if a new task is created then the "Filed In " field does not get refreshed with new values and need to be selected through more option.

If you can't associate multiple teams to one category, how do you support cross-functional teams in Scrum?

We have two Scrum teams, made up of testers, web developers, database developers, etc. We would like to ideally use categories to represent functional areas of the application. However, its possible for different scrum teams to take on different aspects and work on the same functional area/category.

How can this scenario be supported in Jazz?

Yes, but can you associate MULTIPLE teams? I see one team substituted
with another on the new association. Not multiple teams to one
category

You can associate multiple teams with one category if the teams relate to
different development lines. If you have multiple development lines, you
get the option in the editor to switch between them and associate
different teams for each dev line.

What is the advantage of doing this?
While saving a WI, it never reflects this settings!
