Grouping log files under component name which is only logic name

Rachel Dichner (272610) | asked May 10 '13, 12:55 p.m.
 Hi
I am grouping log files in log tab under component name, but actually the component name is not really a component it's only a name for me to group certain logs.
For example: I created a component name with the name "visual studio" And I uploaded all my visual studio logs to be under this folder (component name).
Dies the component name have any significance as a component?

Thanks
Rachel

No, it's just a group / category name, with no extra semantics.  In our own usage they often do correspond to an SCM component name, and that's probably why that terminology was used, but it doesn't have to be an SCM component name.

Nick thanks a lot for your quick answer.

Can I put the build log (the one that RTC creates when I run a build) to be under a component ( in my case a folder?), if so how can I do that? How do I get to this build log?

Thanks

Unfortunately there's no way to do that currently.  Please feel free to open an enhancement request against Build:
