Workitem Customisation : Estimate Field Not Saving

Stephen Long (14311013) | asked Apr 30 '13, 7:38 a.m.

I have added several custom fields (Java Estimate, DB Estimate, etc) of type "Duration" to a workitem type in our project.  In the editor presentation these attributes have been added and and the presentation Kind set to "Time Estimates".  In the Eclipse client the fields are displaying as two edit boxes (estimate and correction) as expected and entering a value and saving works ok (no errors).  If you then close the workitem and then open it again, the entered values have gone.  In the Web client, entering a value in the first field causes the UI to enter the same value in the other estimate fields.

Any ideas anyone?

Stephen,

this is expected. For attributes of type 'Duration' you must only use the 'Time Duration' attribute presentation. 'Time Spent' and 'Time Estimates' must only be used with the corresponding built-in attributes.

Please see work item Time spent attribute based presentation kind does not work properly with custom duration fields (242234) comment 1
and work item Time Estimate/Spent presentation must only be available for the built in attributes (217134)
