Hi,
Our Jazz server is installed on a System i.

To create a new repository connection in RTC I use the same uri, user and password I use to open the Jazz Admin console.

With this uri, user and password I can log on to the Jazz Admin console, but when trying to create a new repository connection I get the error Failed to log into 'eniac02.eniac.nl'.

The user I use is a member of all 4 security roles in the Jazz server.

I can not find any logs for this failure.

Who can help me with a hint how to solve this?

Can you provide the uri you used to login to Web UI and the URI you used to create a repository connection.

To access the admin page, you need to use https://serverName:9443/jazz/admin and to create a new repo connection, you need to use https://serverName:9443/jazz

After you login to Admin page, do you see your user id in the top right corner of the page ?

The uri I use for the Jazz Admin page is: https://eniac02.eniac.nl:10124/jazz/admin
The uri I use to create the repository connection is: https://eniac02.eniac.nl:10124/jazz

On the Admin page the user is 'ADMIN' (while I logged on with LHVLOP)
When I go to the User Management tab, there are no active users. However, I did create the LHVLOP user as a JazzAdmin in the Jazz application on the WAS.
When I try to create a user I see the message 'Notice: You are using a directory service that is not writable. User roles cannot be modified.' and all the Repository Permissions are grayed out.

Can you tell us more about the directory server you are using to manage users. Are you using a WAS Federated Realm as your directory server?

After you configure the realm information in WAS, you need to either create or import users in the Jazz application. We support importing users from Tomcat User Database and LDAP. If you are using Federated realm, you need to create users in Jazz that has the same information as in the Federated Realm.

Even if you user id doesn't exist in the Jazz database, the Web UI allows you to login as Admin (since you are part of the JazzAdmins group in the realm) but the Eclipse UI requires you to have a user id in Jazz database.

Please take a look at the tech notes published in Jazz.net..

Many thanks, I got it working now.

The problem was that I use a System i server as directory server and did not setup my user with https://eniac02.eniac.nl:10124/jazz/setup

Unfortunatly this step was not mentioned in the installation manual.

Thanks again.

Hello,
I've got exactly the same problem and I cannot assign the Jazz Roles to users. While I edit the user I've got the message "Notice: You are using a directory service that is not writable. User roles cannot be modified".
I don't understand how did you solve the problem...
Thank you
Laura
