RTC Shell Client: is it possible to share sandbox with eclipse client?

Donat Hutter (2153239) | asked Feb 13 '13, 9:12 a.m.
Is it possible to work on the same sandbox through the eclipse client and the RTC shell client?
(I have set the current sandbox in the shell client and get an error "unable to lock ..." the lock file in the .jazz5 folder in the eclipse client).

I think with all clients that use the daemon to interact with the RTC server you start the Eclipse client first in order for the other client to share the sandbox. In your case, you should disconnect with your client and start the Eclipse client. Then the other client can connect to the sandbox.

Hopefully this helps as I haven't used the shell client before.

Thanks,

at least it seems to work that way.

Is this behavior somewhere documented? For me this logic is not obvious, especially because I do not see any option to close/exit the shell client (see my other question https://jazz.net/forum/questions/102550/how-the-restart-file-system-daemon-of-the-rtc-shell-client).
