Is it possible to associate a delivery of a component, to a work item, as a related artifact?

Hi there,

With RTC, it is possible to associate a changeset, to a related artifact (work item) prior to delivery, so that the changeset could be tracked in the work item.

I'd like to do the same with a component, ie when a component is added to a stream, and prior to delivery of the component from one stream to another, I'd like to associate an artifact (work item) with the delivery, so that the work item tracks that 'component delivery' as a changeset.....is this possible?

Thanks,
KH

Hi,

as far as I am aware, a component is just a container for change sets and their related files. It can, today, not be associated to a work item.

PS: You can add or remove components to and from a stream without changing any SCM change set information. Except the component content will no longer be loaded in the particular stream or workspace, there are actually no SCM changes involved in it. So the component only selects which projects/files to load.

So, it can not associate one component to another?
