Use of BIRT or RRDI to display list of all (custom) work items from all Project Areas ?

Christophe Lucas (86224948) | asked Feb 06 '13, 11:50 p.m.
We have 10 RTC Project Areas, each based on the same Process Template which contains a custom 'Project Information' work item type.
We managed to create a RPE (.doc) report which lists in 1 table *all* 'Project Information' work items from *all* Project Areas.
Is it possible to create a RRDI or BIRT Report that would be accessible online (via the Dashboard) and that would list *all* 'Project Information' work items from *all* Project Areas in 1 table ?
Can RRDI do that, can BIRT do that ?
Thanks

Hi Tal,
It can be done in RRDI as well

But doesn't RRDI restrict visibility of data based on the access(es) of the user executing the report ?  Assuming, of course, that RRDI is setup in the recommended manner ( not with the unsecured reporting package(s) )

 Hi,
Don't see any problem with doing it using BIRT.
you can create a Data Source for each Project Area and then data sets linking to these Data Sources and use the data in a BIRT report.
I have a report that lists some defect statistics extracted from 3 different project areas.

Tal.

Thanks Tal. Could the same be done using RRDI ?
