RIDW data source connection in Cognos getting failed - RRDI 2.0 and DB2 9.7.0.3 - Both Machines are separate

CRRRA3018E: The RIDW data source connection in Cognos failed to connect. Check if the database client is installed correctly or additional configurations are needed.

RRDI 2.0 and DB2 9.7.0.3 - Both Machines are separate.  I am using WAS 8.0.5.

Tried using db2 lib32 path in startServer.sh and also at the from console but no luck.

Any Help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Asim

Did you ever figure this out?    We are getting a login failed error with SQL Server 2008 and am wondering if the root cause is the same. QE-DEF-0285 “The login failed”

Yes, this is figured out a long time back. This was the problem with the libdb2 driver availability in the run-time. This is resolved when we have installed RHEL 5.5 and did the similar installation again after installing all the dependencies from yum.

Thanks,
Asim

Thanks!    We are on Windows so this wouldn't apply for us.

I have the same problem on Windows machine.

It was working fine but we changed some configuration on OS then Reporting server started to fail during report run.

We also dont have RIDW...

QE-DEF-0325 The logon failed for the following reason:RQP-DEF-0068 Unable to connect to at least one database during a multi-database attach to 1 database(s) in:

Hello Canberk,

on a Windows system if you have DB2 on a different machine than RRDI you need 2 things:
1) Install the DB2 client on the RRDI machine
2) Catalog the Data Warehouse database on the DB2 client. You need to be able to connect to the database from the DB2 command line tools.

To do that you can use the IBM DB2 Configuration Assistant to catalog the remote data warehouse database, or issue the CATALOG DATABASE command.
For example:

CATALOG DATABASE RIDW AS RIDW AT NODE DB2NODE AUTHENTICATION SERVER

Also, what do you mean by, you don't have RIDW?

Best Regards,
