I have no idea what a single-seat installation of DOORS would cost. Anyone have any ideas?
Rationale for having it (at home): It would be nice to be able to run DOORS at home simply to develop DXL scripts without having to go to a customer site.

I can tell you that we (the DOORS community) have been asking for this for YEARS. Telelogic/IBM is aware of this request. At the UGC in 2007, someone asked the keynote speaker if DOORS would ever be available for students to learn on--and a Telelogic rep said that they were working on it.
I wouldn't hold my breath.
Different companies pay different amounts for DOORS. Average cost is $5000-6000, I believe, per license. But don't forget those maintenance fees.

I see there is some mechanism for 'checking out a license' for folks with lap tops on business. Don't know anything about it but surely your computer will need to be in contact with some License manager on one of your clients networks on order to do that.
