Hi All,
While setting up the mode in the sharable edit mode, I need to lock the section but right now section lock is disabled. Please tell me ASAP how to enable the section lock for the objects.
I have RMCDA permission but the Lock is disabled.

Hi,
I'm not sure what you mean by "While setting up the mode in shareable edit mode".
You have to prepare a module for shareable edit mode.
To do so:
-
Open the module in exclusive mode
-
Start "Tools -> Setup for Sharing"
-
Choose the Level where you want sections to be lockable. E.g. if you set the level to "3" you will be able to lock objects belonging to level 3 or higher.
Then save the module and open it in Shareable mode.
Hope this helps
Mike

There's also a handy dandy DXL posted several times to this forum by Peter Albert for more flexible setup of shareable edit. I think it's setshare.dxl. Searching the forum for "setup shareable edit" or the like should give you a hit for this.

Yes, the key is "exclusive edit". You cannot create a new section inside a currently locked section in Shared mode; e.g. you cannot Share, lock section "2.", then create sub-sections at "2.1" and "2.2", even though you have it locked and have RMCDA rights.
Creating sections does strange things to the module's internal representation in the database and I'm guessing its not realistic to allow those database file-changes when someone else is also editing the module.
