excel.dxl encrypted?

Hi all,

First post here and newbie to DOORS.

I was looking to build an export tool to have multiple open modules exported to Excel, using built-in export options namely:

'Main' column includes Object Heading and Text, Include column titles, and Preserve rich text formatting.

I believe the proper syntax for these dialog options can be found in DOORS\9.6\lib\dxl\standard\export\excel.dxl. However it seems the file is encrypted in version 9.6.

Does anyone have maybe a copy of the unencrypted excel.dxl file from earlier versions where I'll be able to find the options syntax?

Thanks.

I shared the unencrypted version from 9.3 with you, see if that works out for you.

This'll at least get me started.

Again, thanks for providing the excel.dxl file from version 9.3.

I was able to set 2 of the dialogue options and toggles through DXL.

The only problem is that IBM had since added a feature of exporting rich text to its Excel export tool, so there's an additional toggle to "Preserve rich text formatting" in the dialogue box.

Without the DBE defined somewhere it's quite hard to just "guess" the syntax...

Does anybody just happen to know the syntax for this "Preserve rich text formatting" toggle in the Excel export tool, or is it something that's introduced in version 9.4 or 9.5, so I may be able to trouble someone else for the excel.dxl file from those versions?

Thanks.

In DOORS 9.4 this option is already included. You can access it with the name 'preserveRichTextFormattingToggle' ... Regards, Mathias

Thank you Mathisas for replying.

I tried preserveRichTextFormattingToggle = true but ended up with an inccorect argument error.

So what's the correct way of setting the option in DXL?

Thanks.

Hmm this this is a toggle without trying I would suspect: set (preserveRichTextFormattingToggle, true) ?

Thank you Mathias.

The syntax works like a charm.

Now I just need to figure out how to make the script work with the multiple modules open scirpt I grabbed from smartDXL.

So far it's not giving me anything... No errors, but the modules are not exporting either. The script didn't even seem to be able to bring up the Excel export dialogue when used with the multiple modules open script.
