Rational Team Concert for Power Systems Software 2.0 New & Noteworthy
Here are some of the more noteworthy things in the Rational Team Concert for Power Systems Software 2.0 release added since the Rational Team Concert for i 1.0 release (Nov. 2008):
Licensing
New Edition
Rational Team Concert for Power Systems Software now supports a new Enterprise edition for large organizations.
Jazz Team Server hosting options
Rational Team Concert for Power Systems Software now supports hosting the Jazz Team Server on more platforms, including:
- Platforms supported by Rational Team Concert V2.0.0.1 including Windows and AIX.
- IBM i 5.4 or 6.1
Build
IBM i build specification
Rational Team Concert for Power Systems Software now supports a new IBM i build specification which allows you to define and execute team builds for i Projects. Starting with a default build specification, you can fine-tune it to define which objects to build from an i Project, how to build these objects, and which dependencies would require a rebuild of these objects. It also allows you to define inter-project dependencies.
New IBM i build specification
Rational Team Concert for Power Systems Software includes a new team build definition that uses the new IBM i build specification. This enables you to specify when to build, which projects to build, source and object library mappings for IBM i projects, library list search paths when building, and other property and substitution variables to be applied at the time of the build.
Improved build reporting
Rational Team Concert for Power Systems Software has improved logging and collection of results from the team build. Compiler messages are now displayed directly in the build results view grouped by source member.
IDE integration
Rational Developer for Power Systems Software Integration
Rational Developer for Power Systems Software is the IDE for developing software on the IBM i platform, in native languages such as COBOL, RPG, CL, and DDS. The Rational Team Concert for Power Systems Software client integrates seamlessly with this developer IDE to allow team collaboration for these software projects, all within a common Integrated Development environment. Rational Team Concert for Power Systems Software supports Source Configuration Management for Power software projects, understands the native file systems on the Power platforms, and executes team builds on those platforms. Rational Developer for Power Systems Software also has enablement to submit developer-scoped builds using the IBM i build specification.
