Browser Addon plugin should check for "all users" location for loading (50883)
The RRC Browser Addon plugin is installed by default to <user.home>/IBM/RRCAddon-3.0.1.2 directory and at this time, that location can not be modified during the installation. However, to address issues with remote profiles and multi-purpose / multi-user machines, manual post-install steps may be performed to move the installation files to the Windows common application data directory instead of the users workspace. For Windows XP and Windows 2008, the Windows common application data directory is something like "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data". For Windows 7 and Windows Vista, the location is something like "C:\ProgramData\".
The following steps should be performed by an administrator of the system:
- NOTE: You must be an administrator to perform these steps!
IE Installation Procedures:
- Sign in with System Administrator account
- Follow the standard installation process defined here.
- However, when you are asked to install the ActiveX control, you will be given the option to 'Install for All Users' or 'Current User Only'. Select the 'Install for All Users' option.
- Once the installation has completed, close IE browser
- Create an IBM directory under the common application data directory (eg. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IBM) if one does not already exist
- Move the <user.home>/IBM/RRCAddon-3.0.1.2 directory to the IBM directory created in step #4
- Restart IE browser
Firefox Installation Procedures:
- Sign in with System Administrator account
- Follow the standard installation process defined here.
- Once the installation has completed, close Firefox browser
- Create an IBM directory under the common application data directory (eg. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IBM) if one does not already exist
- Move the <user.home>/IBM/RRCAddon-3.0.1.2" directory to the IBM directory created in step #4
- Copy the npRRC30Plugin.dll file (located in the Firefox profile extensions directory (eg. <application data directory>\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile name>\extensions\rrcBrowserAddOn-3.0.1.2_0@ibm.com\plugins) to the C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins directory.

All users on the system should now be able to edit graphical artifacts using a common plugin and not be required to install individually.
