Rational Insight 1.1.1.7 introduces the Rational Insight Development Tools. The Rational Insight Development Tools help you customize the Rational Insight data model, XDC mapping, and ETL.

Rational Insight 1.1.1.7 also offer the Rational Insight Data Services. The Rational Insight Data Services enables the creation of data connections to Rational ClearCase, Rational ClearQuest, Rational RequisitePro, and Rational TestManager so that Rational Insight can report on the data.
Rational Insight Data Services Installation Guide
Rational Insight 1.1.1.7 includes a 120-day trial that does not require a license server. During the trial period, access to the report server is limited to 10 users.

Rational Insight 1.1.1.x discontinued operating system support for AIX
Effective October 31, 2014 version 1.1.1.x of IBM Rational Insight will no longer be supported on IBM AIX.

Known problems and workarounds
Microsoft Internet Explorer version 10 support
If you are using Internet Explorer 10, you must enable the compatibility view when working with Rational Insight. To enable compatibility view:
- Open Rational Insight in Internet Explorer 10.
- If the Menu bar is hidden, press the Alt key to display it.
- Click Tools, Compatibility View settings.
- In the Add this website field, ensure that the server name for Rational Insight is displayed.
- Click Add. The server name is now listed as one of the websites to open in the compatibility view.
- Click Close.
Using email addresses as user IDs
If email addresses are used as the user IDs for the Cognos BI report server and Rational Insight, see this workaround article for additional configuration steps.
Data Collection Component (DCC) wrapper scripts
If you are configuring the Cognos Data Manager in Rational Insight to run DCC jobs, you may encounter a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: DCSWrapper exception. Please contact IBM technical support for details and reference "DCF #1970850".

Downloading and unzipping the Rational Insight media files
Download Tip: Due to the large file sizes of these downloads, we highly recommend that you use a download manager to work around a download size limitation on some web browsers (typically 2 GB maximum) and to improve the download performance.
Unzip Tip: You may experience problem to unzip the Rational Insight media files on some releases of Windows, Linux and AIX platforms. This is due to a known limitation on these platforms that prevent their "unzip" utility to unzip files bigger than 2 GBytes.
On many versions of Windows, unzipping using the default Extract All feature may even fail silently to properly unzip the files which will result in failures when installing/upgrading Rational Insight.
The workaround to this defect is to use a different tool to unzip the Rational Insight media files.
If you experience unzip issues on any platforms, you can use a tool like 7zip which can be downloaded from 7-zip
