The foundation of IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management
Jazz Foundation 3.0
1Review the System Requirements and Release Notes
2Download the Jazz Team Server and Application SDK
If you haven't already, visit the All Downloads tab. At a minimum, you will want to download either the 'Jazz Team Server and Application SDK (Web Install)' or the separate 'Jazz Team Server' and 'Application SDK' zip downloads.
Optionally, you may want to consider downloading the 'Practice Library Application' and Jazz Foundation source code.
3Installation and Upgrade
Information on deploying and configuring the Practice Library application technology preview can be found here
Upgrading from a Previous Release
If you are upgrading from a previous Jazz Foundation release, you will need to upgrade your existing database using the 'repotools-jazz -addTables' command. This is an in-place data migration. A full export and import is not required. It is highly recommended that you backup your database prior to performing this operation. Review the Release Notes for additional information regarding restrictions related to upgrade.
Follow the instructions below to upgrade to Jazz Foundation 3.0:
- Install the Jazz Foundation 3.0 - Jazz Team server into a new location using the Installation Manager (Web Install) and select the option to use '/jazz' as the context root.
- Edit the teamserver.properties located in
/server/conf/jazz so that it points to your existing database.
- Run the 'repotools-jazz -addTables' command to upgrade your database.
- Continue with Setting up the Jazz Team Server.
The following links are a good next step for learning more about Jazz Foundation and how you can use what is provided in the downloads to build your own clients and develop Jazz Team Server extensions.
