Jazz Reporting Service

The Jazz Reporting Service is continuing it's mission to improve self-service reporting in each subsequent release. In the 5.0 release we began by providing a set of out of the box reports that represent a cross-section of agile metrics. These report could be parameterized according to a particular organizations needs. In 5.0.1 Sprint 1 we are starting to make some improvements to these reports so that they will provide more value to the dashboard consumers. For instance we now provide a compact rendering of any CLM resource links when the user hovers over a link in the dashboard widget. This allows users to view information about the CLM resource without having to navigate away from the dashboard page. We are also introducing the concept of report drill-down in the "Release Status" report. In this report, you can click on the count links or bars from the chart and the widget will drill down into a different report that lists all the work items that are aggregated in the count or chart bar. This helps users understand the particular work items that are being reported in the widget if they wish to see details of an aggregate count.

In 5.0.1 Sprint 1 we are introducing a report creation workflow so that users can create their own reports based on a single resource that span multiple projects. This initial workflow can be explored in 5.0.1 Sprint 1 though it is not fully constructed yet. The workflow begins by selecting the resource the user wishes to query on, followed by project selection and then the describing the characteristics of the resource to report on. Then the idea is that the report can be created and viewed and subsequently placed on the dashboard. In Sprint 1 the report cannot be created yet, but we wanted to provide some indication of the direction of how this workflow is initially being perceived. In this new workflow is possible to view all the reports that are installed in the JRS and provide some organization through tags and visibility (either public or private).

Cognos Business Intelligence

The Cognos Business Intelligence included in RRDI 5.0 releases was based on Cognos version 10.2.1 fixpack 2. RRDI 5.0.1 stays with the same Cognos release for this sprint.
