Removing Column Title from Export

Hi, apologies if this question has been asked, I have searched for answers but perhaps i'm using the wrong terms.

I'm currently using DOORS to export a module to word using the built in function. The view I am exporting has one column, the data from which is composed of a number of attributes through a dxl script and thus I am not exporting the standard "object heading/text" attribute.
Due to this (i assume), when I export - DOORs inserts the title of the column in that view into the front of each object in word. All i want it to do is export the text inside that attribute, not the title of the column as well. Is there a way to prevent this?
An easy fix is just to do a find and replace once in word for the column title (set it to something unique) however this isn't as polished as i'd like!

As an example if the column title is "X", each entry in word is "X: The quick brown fox..."

If anyone can help or point me to where this issue has been previously resolved i would be thankful.

You could modify the word export script. I have done this in past for a client but that script would be for an older version of DOORS -- the problem with modifying the "Canned" script is that some will have to be modified for new versions of DOORS.

Modify word.dxl or replace in Word afterwards seems your best solutions.

But if your Attr-DXL displays perhaps this:
  • Doors_ID: ABC_002
  • Text: bla bla bla

then you could change it to display this instead:
  • ABC_002
  • Text: bla bla bla
and then call your column "Doors_ID: "

  • Louie

You may be better off accepting that "polished" and "DOORS" rarely belong in the same paragraph! lol

You may be able to export to Word as a Table Layout instead of Book Layout if you can tolerate the change of layout.

The presentation does appear differently in Word since it is a table, but you can hide to grid lines, and eliminate the Table header row. You can size the columns in DOORS, or in Word.
