Can't import Excell 2007 spreadsheet into DOORs 9.3

I've been importing Excel .csv files into DOORS 8.3 like clockwork. No problem. We just went to DOORS 9.3. I do the Import > Spreadsheet bit now and although I get the same messages as before during the import, and new entries appear, the fields in these entries are either blank or gray. Export > Microsoft Office > Excel gives me an empty spreadsheet.

So, the obvious question is: what has changed so that DOORS 9.3 either doesn't import, or mashes the data?

More important, what is necessary to make the import process work again?
