Hi, always when I try opening the DXL reference manual I get a download window for a PDF file. Is the normal help system disabled for DXL manual? Whay that? I think there are good reasons why a help engine should be used for that. Easier to find what I'm looking for; more structured; hyperlinks... Doors started to move to eclipse based help system - much better. Why moving to a plain PDF for DXL? 980 pages endless content. Maybe I do s.th. wrong and this is only the fallback. Re: Getting searchable DXL manual help system I've asked a smimilar question in an other forum: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/forums/html/topic?id=271075a2-dbf4-4c12-a974-f8008e0bef02&ps=50 You are asking a forbidden question. |
Re: Getting searchable DXL manual help system Yes this has been a major pain, something you can do to alleviate this pain is to find this file on your DOORS client install:
C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Rational\DOORS\9.5.2.1\help\dxl.chm It is the DXL reference manual in the format we all know and love, why it isn't brought up by the Help > DXL Reference Manual is beyond me. You should be able to double click the above file in whichever version of DOORS you have and get the DXL manual that is indexed and searchable. Give it a shot and get back to us if that works for you. |
