IBM DOORS 9.6.1.6 questions

Hello,

I am researching information about DOORS version 9.6.1.6 and was wondering if anyone would be able to answer a few questions that I have.

  • Is DOORS version 9.6.1.6 more compatible with LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) (i.e. single sign on)?  (I believe that the current version requires quite a bit of work to set up new user login names manually at each level of the database. For example, you would have to change the username for each folder and project to which the user has access.)
  • Does DOORS encrypt stored and transmitted passwords?
  • Is it possible to require a user to change their password when a temporary password is given to them (when they request a new password)?
  • Is it possible to set up timeouts after a period of inactivity (I believe this cannot be done).

Hello,

- DOORS can use authentication vis Rational Directory Server(RDS). Nothing else as far as I am aware.

- I am not sure about whether DOORS encrypts user password or not. You can probably check using wire shark or something..

- Open the target user > Security tab. You can set how long the current password is valid.

- You cannot disconnect DOORS with the DOORS server or license server, however you can make it ask for a password after a period of inactivity from the DB property.
