My worksite has just begun a slow roll-out of DOORS and has many files that need mapping. The engineering team is currently doing much of this informally outside of DOORS via Excel spreadsheets. My issue is getting that data back into DOORS.
When I export a module to a csv spreadsheet, update a value, and then attempt to re-import the spreadsheet via the "Update existing objects" radial in the "Import Spreadsheet" dialog, nothing is updated. Rather, a new object is created for each exported item in the spreadsheet. Obviously, I'm either missing some fundamental step in this process, or am misinformed about the "Update existing objects" option.
I've also tried this with no edits: a simple export, followed immediately by an import. In my mind, this would result in nothing, or a dialog of "Updated 0 objects and created 0 objects." What currently happens is a dialog of "Updated 0 objects and created X objects," where X is the number of objects in the module.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

What version of DOORS are you using?
In pre-9 DOORS versions, you had to make sure that your unique key was the Object Identifier column. However, when you export the standard view from DOORS to Excel, the first column will have "ID" as the title.
You need to change "ID" to "Object Identifier". If that doesn't work, then I suggest you export a view that contains "Absolute Number"s instead.
