I'm trying to get DOORS to export a half-way decent looking document. Initially, I gave up on the built-in standard word document export, and decided that the table layout was half-way acceptable. However, I can't get the rich text to export when I use table format. It creates a word document with the two columns in my, but all of the text loses its formatting.
Basically, it's just adding the DOORS object id to the object text for objects that are requirements. First, I tried exporting to word in "book" format. There were two problems. First, even though I selected style mapping, it wasn't picking up my headings, presumably because I'm not using their built-in "object heading and text" column. Secondly, it kept adding the name of my column "Word_Text" in front of every single requirement, which is HIGHLY annoying. I then decided, well if the headings are going to get picked up in Word, I may as well just output the damn thing to an RTF file. So I exported to RTF, and it didn't even use my view. It appears that RTF completely ignores the view you're using and just creates a document based on the object text and heading information. The only thing I want is to create a document that looks exactly like the layout column I have in this view. Anything else would be gravy. Does anyone know how to export my single layout column into a word document that maintains my rich text formatting, my DXL layout updates, and doesn't insert column titles in front of every object? Re: Problems exporting JoshD - Fri Sep 24 14:35:26 EDT 2010 Export To Word, Book Format - Headings ignored when mapping styles, Column Title added in front of every single object. Export To Word, Table Format - Headings ignored, rich text ignored Export To Excel - Rich text ignored Export To RTF, Book Format - Layout DXL column, not used Export to RTF, Table Format - Everything appears to work, but their are no line breaks separating sections, so it's a nightmare if you remove table borders |
Re: Problems exporting JoshD - Fri Sep 24 17:15:21 EDT 2010 1. Rich text is ignored (at least for dxl layout columns) when exporting to Word (Table) and Excel. 2. Current view is ignored when exporting to RTF (Book). 3. Heading - Style mapping doesn't work for Word (Book) and Word (Table) when not using the built-in object heading and text column. |
