Displaying and editing Word tables in DOORS

I have imported a Word document that contains tables. As I do not want each cell in the table to be an object, I have tried various ways of copy and paste to display the table with its various symbols as well as text colors. The only way so far is to paste it as a picture but then it can not be edited. The second best is as a Word object but then symbols are displayed incorrectly.
The other nightmare is to export it as a document again! Then only the picture makes sense! Can anybody help?

There's a couple of suggestions to fix the symbols in Word objects here:

The best method I know of is to open Word, insert a "word object" and paste the table therein. Then import Word into DOORS and you have an editable OLE of the table. I presume the Symbols thread will resolve that problem.

Big tables are a nightmare. You need to format the table often in order for it to display well in DOORS.
