I recall using a DB Admin software utility that came with the DOORS server executable on a Windows machine to log in (as Administrator) and see who has locks in the database and also to remove them. I was recently faced with a similar challenge on a project that was using a Linux machine for a DOORS server and didn't know if there is a similar utility for that? Well, you can download the Windows Server installation files and install the server binaries on your PC. No license is needed for installing it, you don't need to register an actual DOORS DB server on your machine. May be you can even unzip the installation files and only extract the dbadmin.exe file (perhaps plus some libraries). |

Just tried it, was not able to separate the DB Admin from the DOORS server as it's a single executable but you have a valid point that a license is not needed for this and as long as you have the port@servername and Administrator credentials for DOORS this is another good method. Thanks you both, your answers combined have given me exactly what I was looking for! |
