DOORS 8.1 is no longer supported

Not sure if this will catch anyone else off guard, but it has us. We have many 8.1 databases due to customer requirements. I am aware of the inter-compatibility between all 8.x versions, but some of our customer compliance requirements state what version we are to use. We found out this week that 8.1 was no longer supported as of May 15. IBM/Telelogic support will not even listen to your question after you say 8.1. I am disappointed that I did not see any advanced notifications.

This was advertised some time ago, I just don't recall where.

"...will not even listen to your question after you say 8.1..". Reminds me of the joke where the dude goes to the doctor, twists his arm over his head and touches his nose, and says 'It hurts when I do that'. To which the doctor replies 'Don't do that. ... NEXT'.

You may want to install a local v8.3 and v9.1 database and client locally, even if its not in 'production'.

Another suggest -- don't use the expression "8.1". Replicate the problem on later version then explain the problem about the later version of DOORS.

Support for earlier versions of DOORS
With the release of DOORS 9.0, support for earlier versions of DOORS changes. The effect of this is as follows:
DOORS 8.3 - Active support to December 25, 2009. Inactive support to July 25 2011.
DOORS 8.2 - Active support to November 9, 2008. Inactive support to November 9, 2009.
DOORS 8.1 - Active support to May 15, 2008. Inactive support to May 15, 2009.
DOORS 8.0 - Support ended on May 15, 2008.
DOORS 7.1 - Support ends on July 25, 2008.

DOORS 8.2 and above are still present.
