New user cannot log in no matter what password I give them

In DOORS 9.5 I encounter this one problem every once in a while that makes me crazy. It's doing it now, so I thought I would reach out and maybe someone has a solution. I create a new user and give them a password. The system will not let them login but disables their account. Sometimes it will let them login once, and then the second time will disable their account. I tried logging in as that user and immediately changing the password. Doors let me login one time with the second password, and then disabled the account.

Any suggestions other than repeatedly trying lots of different passwords until doors starts behaving?

Are you using RDS?

If you're using a standard DOORS userlist what options do you have selected on the security tab for the new users? i.e. Is user may change password selected? Min password length?

What is the exact error that the user sees when they try and login?

If your company security policy allows, you could send the DOORS user archive to DOORS support (.dua) for further investigation.
