Is there an IBM Rational product, that is compatible with DOORS 9.2, and simplifies writing test procedures complete with test data forms? Currently the test procedures and data forms are created in MS Word. It would be nice to have a product that works with DOORS for traceablility. Does anyone know of such a product?

Re: IBM Rational product for creating test procedures? IBM QM is delivered on top of IBM's Jazz platform - DOORS is not Jazz compatible yet - so the current integration uses a point-in-time push-pull data syncronisation technique - requires administrative overhead to ensure that the integration is properly configured, and constant checking to make sure that it's doing what it should be doing!! When DOORS becomes Jazz platform compatible, my expectation is that the plug-in type interface between the two should reduce the administrative overhead for this integration. A trap to watch out for - whenever QM is updated with data from DOORS, you are effectively changing a baseline of information which has an impact on testing that should be understood before committing to the new baseline. Updates between DOORS and any Test Management tool like QM should be controlled events and not just free wheeling via an electronic integration that is constantly running - it's difficult for testers to try and stay in alignment with constantly changing requirement data and retain confidence that they are testing to the correct measurement criteria - changes should be delivered in batches (baselines) - feedback\agreement from testers on proposed changes should be sought first - then the update can occur.
