Hello Actually in our firm the use of a employee number is required for the login. That ist somehting like n123456 and actually this string is used in any entries like "created by" or "changed by". Is it possible to change this internal name. The idea is something link "<name>, <firstName>, <department>". Thanks for any help Best regards Wolfgang Wolfgang Uhr - Wed Nov 12 08:38:21 EST 2014 |
Re: Use a user name different from login name Hi Wolfgang, that's an interesting question. In many companies that I know, one of the reasons for introducing numbers instead of usernames like "Scharnow_M" is that the real name of the users shall /not/ be visible to everyone (Betriebsrat lässt grüßen...). To answer your question: I would say "no, not in the way you described it". But you might want to create some reporting facility or a DXL layout column that displays this information, either from the RDS that DOORS is connected with (to get the name / fullName, see "Group and user properties" in the DXL help) or by connecting directly to another corporate directory server (to get the department).

Thanks for this hint. Actually I've not seen this problem, but I'm shure you are right even in my case.
