Build

IBM i build specification

Rational Team Concert for Power Systems Software now supports a new IBM i build specification which allows you to define and execute team builds for i Projects. Starting with a default build specification, you can fine-tune it to define which objects to build from an i Project, how to build these objects, and which dependencies would require a rebuild of these objects. It also allows you to define inter-project dependencies.

New IBM i build specification

Rational Team Concert for Power Systems Software includes a new team build definition that uses the new IBM i build specification. This enables you to specify when to build, which projects to build, source and object library mappings for IBM i projects, library list search paths when building, and other property and substitution variables to be applied at the time of the build.

Rational Team Concert for Power Systems Software has improved logging and collection of results from the team build. Compiler messages are now displayed directly in the build results view grouped by source member.

Rational Developer for Power Systems Software Integration

Rational Developer for Power Systems Software is the IDE for developing software on the IBM i platform, in native languages such as COBOL, RPG, CL, and DDS. The Rational Team Concert for Power Systems Software client integrates seamlessly with this developer IDE to allow team collaboration for these software projects, all within a common Integrated Development environment. Rational Team Concert for Power Systems Software supports Source Configuration Management for Power software projects, understands the native file systems on the Power platforms, and executes team builds on those platforms. Rational Developer for Power Systems Software also has enablement to submit developer-scoped builds using the IBM i build specification.
