Download and Install

Review the release notes before installing to understand the system requirements and any known issues.

Already have Rational Requirements Composer? Learn how to upgrade to version 2.0.0.1.

Follow the steps in the Installation Roadmap for detailed instructions on how to download and install Rational Requirements Composer OR for quick instructions, complete the following steps:

  1. Download the Rational Requirements Composer Client and Server .zip files (Part 1 and 2 for the server, Master and Main for the client) from the All Downloads tab.
  2. Extract the contents of the downloaded .zip files into a temporary location, so that you have the following directories: RRCS and RRCS_SETUP for the server, and RRCC and RRCC_SETUP for the client.
  3. Go to the RRCS_SETUP directory and execute launchpad.exe (on Windows, or launchpad.sh on Linux) to launch IBM Installation Manager v1.3.2., which will install Rational Requirements Composer Server.
  4. Go to the RRCC_SETUP directory and execute launchpad.exe to install Rational Requirements Composer Client.

Configure Rational Requirements Composer Server

In order for Requirements Composer server to work properly after installation, it must be configured. The following videos show how to configure the RRC Server with WebSphere Application Server and LDAP:

Follow the steps in the Installation Roadmap for detailed instructions on how to configure Rational Requirements Composer server OR for quick instructions, complete the following steps:

  1. Start Rational Requirements Composer Server by clicking Start > Programs > Rational Requirements Composer Server > Start Rational Requirements Composer Server 2.0.
  2. To access the configuration wizard, open a Web browser and point to https://[hostname or IP]:9443/rdm/setup, where "hostname or IP" is that for the machine on which the server is installed.
  3. Follow the steps in the wizard to configure Rational Requirements Composer Server.
