1Download and Install
Important Notes
- Rational Requirements Composer 2.0 Beta 2 is available in English only.
- Upgrade from previous versions (1.0 and 1.0.0.1) of Rational Requirements Composer to the latest version (2.0) is not supported.
Follow the steps in the Installation Roadmap for detailed instructions on how to download and install Rational Requirements Composer OR for quick instructions, complete the following steps:
- Download the Rational Requirements Composer Client and Server .zip files (Master disk and Disk 1) from the All Downloads tab.
- Extract the contents of the downloaded .zip files into a temporary location, so that you have the following directories: RRCS, RRCS_SETUP, RRCC, and RRCC_SETUP.
- Go to the RRCS_SETUP directory and execute launchpad.exe (on Windows) to instantiate Installation Manager V1.3.1., which will install Rational Requirements Composer Server.
- Repeat the process, this time executing launchpad.exe in the RRCC_SETUP directory, to install Rational Requirements Composer Client.

2Configure Rational Requirements Composer
In order for Requirements Composer server to work properly after installation, it must be configured.
Follow the steps in the Installation Roadmap for detailed instructions on how to configure Rational Requirements Composer server OR for quick instructions, complete the following steps:
- Start Rational Requirements Composer Server by clicking Start > Programs > Rational Requirements Composer Server > Start Rational Requirements Composer Server 2.0.
- To access the configuration wizard, open a Web browser and point to https://[hostname or IP]:9443/rdm/setup, where "hostname or IP" is that for the machine on which the server is installed.
- Follow the steps in the wizard to configure Rational Requirements Composer Server.
