Prerequisites for this upgrade

iFix3 is an upgrade to Rational Quality Manager and Rational Test Lab Manager 2.0.0.1. It includes all fixes for the 2.0.0.1 release, including those from iFix1 and iFix2. iFix3 can only be applied to an existing installation of Rational Quality Manager and Rational Test Lab Manager 2.0.0.1. If you have already installed one of the previous fixes, you can simply overwrite it with iFix3.

As a precautionary measure, perform a filesystem backup of your Rational Quality Manager installation directory and a database backup of your Rational Quality Manager repository.

Download and install

Follow these steps to download and install this fix to Rational Quality Manager and Rational Test Lab Manager:

1. Before shutting down Rational Quality Manager to install the upgrade, configure the server to reset the cache the next time it starts by submitting the requestReset command from your browser:

   https://server_name:port_number/jazz/admin/cmd/requestReset 

   Note: You must be logged in as a user with JazzAdmins permissions.

2. Stop the Rational Quality Manager Jazz server.
3. Download the zip file for the iFix from the All Downloads tab.
4. Extract the contents of the downloaded zip file to a directory called "updatesite". This creates the following directory structure:

   updatesite/RQM/disk1

5. Start IBM Installation Manager.
6. Click File >Preferences and then click Repositories. Make sure that Search service repositories during installation and updates is not selected.
7. Click Add Repository and click Browse.
8. Browse to the directory where the iFix was unzipped (updatesite/RQM/disk1), select diskTag.inf, and click Open.
9. Click OK and then OK again to close the preferences dialog.
10. On the main Installation Manager page, click the Update icon. Follow the installation wizard to complete the installation of the iFix.
11. When the Update completes, restart the Rational Quality Manager server and log in.

    Note: You can expect initial startup time after the iFix installation to be somewhat lengthy. Subsequent startups should be much faster. Note also that if the browser returns a 404 error, you can simply reload the page.

Update the predefined report templates

This iFix includes required updates to the predefined report templates. These templates are managed with the IBM Rational Team Concert client that you install with Rational Quality Manager. For instructions on updating the report templates, click Updating the predefined report templates and follow steps 1-6.
