Download the files

Download the Rational Quality Manager and Rational Test Lab Manager zip file from the All Downloads tab. Download the Build Forge zip files if you plan to use Rational Test Lab Manager.

Refer to the Rational Quality Manager System Requirements before installing to make certain that your system meets or exceeds the minimum required configuration.

Optional: Download Rational Team Concert Client

Rational Team Concert is required to administer your user roles and permissions, and for synchronization with ClearQuest Connector.

Follow these Installation Instructions

For the Rational Quality Manager 2.0 beta release, you must perform a full installation of the product. There is no update installation.

To install Rational Quality Manager 2.0 Beta 1, including the Rational Test Lab Manager component, follow these steps:

1. Extract the contents of the downloaded zip file to a temporary directory.
2. Start the launchpad application located in the RQM_SETUP folder.
3. Select a language for the installation and click OK.
4. Click Install IBM Rational Quality Manager.

   The Install Packages page opens. If you are installing the product for the first time and Installation Manager is not already available, Installation Manager will be selected by default, along with IBM Rational Quality Manager.

5. Click Next.
6. Read and accept the license agreement. Click Next.
7. Accept the default installation location for Installation Manager, and click Next. When installing in a WebSphere Application Server environment, remove "Program Files" from the default location, or specify an install location of your choice.
8. Accept Create a new package group for IBM Rational Quality Manager.
9. Accept or modify the default installation directory.
• In a Tomcat environment, you can accept the default location and click Next.
• To simplify setup in a WebSphere Application Server environment, you can modify the installation directory to a location that contains no spaces. For example, you can change C:\Program Files\IBM\RQM to C:\IBM\RQM.
• Click Next.

  Note: If you install into a directory with a name that contains spaces, you will need to replace the space with %20 in any of your WebSphere Application Server and DB2 database configuration steps.

10. To install additional languages, select one or more languages, and click Next.
11. Accept the installation of Installation Manager and Rational Quality Manager and click Next.
12. Click Install to begin the installation process.
13. When the installation is completed, click Finish.
14. To integrate Build Forge with the Rational Test Lab Manager component of Rational Quality Manager, follow the instructions in the Build Forge zip files downloaded from the All Downloads tab.
