Download and install Rational Project Conductor

Before you begin:

• Make sure that you meet or exceed the system requirements.
• Ensure that IBM® Rational® Project Conductor version 1.0 is installed. You can download the 1.0 package at https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-project-conductor/releases/1.0/RPC-1.0.zip. For installation instructions, see the Installation Guide.

Upgrading to Rational Project Conductor 1.0.0.1

If you have Rational Project Conductor 1.0 installed, you can upgrade your installation to 1.0.0.1, and migrate the existing repository data. Download the 1.0.0.1 installation package from https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-project-conductor/releases/1.0.0.1/RPC-1.0.0.1-GA.zip. For information on upgrading to 1.0.0.1. see Upgrading to version 1.0.0.1 in the installation guide.

Note: If you installed Rational Project Conductor 1.0 on a Rational Team Concert™ 2.0 instance, then you must upgrade your Rational Team Concert version to 2.0.0.2 before you install Rational Project Conductor 1.0.0.1. For more information, see Additional installation and upgrade options.

Installing Rational Project Conductor 1.0 and 1.0.0.1 using the download packages

If you do not have Rational Project Conductor 1.0 installed, then follow the steps below to install Version 1.0 and 1.0.0.1 simultaneously:

1. Extract the 1.0 and 1.0.0.1 installation packages to separate directories.
2. Start IBM Installation Manager. Click File > Preferences.
3. In the left menu bar, ensure that Repositories is selected. Click Add Repository, and specify the repository location as 1.0 folder location/disk1/diskTag.inf. Repeat this step to add a repository location for the 1.0.0.1 folder. Click OK.
4. In Installation Manager, click Install once to install both version 1.0 and version 1.0.0.1.

Note: To install Rational Project Conductor into an existing instance of Rational Team Concert, Version 2.0.0.2, on the Install Packages page, select the option to install in an existing package group, and select the Jazz™ Team Server instance of Rational Team Concert.

Installing Rational Project Conductor 1.0, and upgrading to 1.0.0.1

1. Extract the Rational Project Conductor 1.0 package to a temporary directory. Start the installation from the launchpad. See Installing Rational Project Conductor. Click Finish after the installation is complete.
2. Open Installation Manager, click Update.
3. Select the 1.0.0.1 update package, and click Update.

Optional: Install Rational Team Concert and Rational ClearQuest Connector

1. Download and install the IBM Rational Team Concert™ client, which is required for certain administrative tasks, such as customizing a process specification of a project.
   • Get the Standard Edition of Rational Team Concert 2.0.0.2.
   • Select either the ZIP / Client for Eclipse IDE or the Installation Manager / Client for Eclipse IDE (Local Install) package.
2. Download and install Rational ClearQuest Connector™, which is required to synchronize work items between the the Jazz™ Team Server and a Rational ClearQuest database. Learn more about setting up the ClearQuest Connector.
   • Get the Standard Edition of Rational Team Concert 2.0.0.2.
   • Select the ZIP / ClearQuest Connector package.
