1Download and Install
- From the All Downloads tab, download the package for your platform.
- Extract the contents of the .zip file into a temporary location.
- Launch IBM Installation Manager:
- On Windows: Run the launchpad.exe file.
- On Linux: Run the launchpad.sh file.
- For Windows and Linux, you can install the Rational Asset Manager Eclipse client, server, and DB2 database. For AIX and zLinux, you can install the server and use the Web client.
- If you already have a database installed, install the Rational Asset Manager server. If you do not have a database installed, you must first install one. You can use the link from the launchpad to install a DB2 database.
- Configure the Rational Asset Manager server by using the server setup utility; for instructions see the Installation Guide. You use the 60 day trial license to complete the installation.
Upgrading?
To update Rational Asset Manager from a previous version you've installed, you do not need to use the launchpad, but open Installation Manager and choose File > Preferences. In the list of repositories add this repository: "https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-asset-manager/7.5/M2/install-repository/" and click OK. Then go to Updates to update the product with this version.
Installation issues:
In this milestone, for Windows 2008-R2 64-bit, you must specify an alternate location for the installation other than the default location.
Restart Server option does not work in server setup application when running on an eWAS 7.0.
Description: Rational Asset Manager 7.5 Milestone 2 includes the embedded version of WebSphere Application Server 7.0.0.7. During the installation of Rational Asset Manager by using the server setup application, you are prompted to restart the server by clicking the "Restart Server" button. However, the restart operation does not work. It fails to completely stop the server and is unable to restart it again.
Action: When prompted to restart the server, choose to stop and then restart the server manually. For example in Windows, from the command line:
- Navigate to ewas\profiles\profile1\bin directory
- Run this command to stop the server: stopServer.bat server1
- Run this command to start the server: startServer.bat server1
- After restarting server manually, click the "I have restarted the server manually" link.
