Rational Team Concert is free!
IBM has a long history of supporting and participating in open source communities such as Linux, Apache, Eclipse and Mozilla. We're building on these relationships by offering Rational Team Concert releases free of charge to qualified open source projects. Team Concert helps geographically distributed teams collaborate and deliver software using iterative, agile processes. It provides many of the core capabilities needed for an open source project including source code control, build management, and work items for managing bugs and feature requests. Although Team Concert is an offering from IBM, it leverages open source technologies such as Tomcat, Derby and Dojo and the Eclipse Java development tools.
Individuals or organizations hosting an open source project may qualify for free Team Concert Licenses. These licenses are valid as long as the following conditions are true:
- Contributions to the project are redistributed using an OSI-approved license or a variation of an OSI-approved license that complies with the OSI's Open Source Definition
- The project is visibly active with builds posted regularly on the project's website and frequent contributions to the project's work items, mailing lists and/or newgroups
- The project is completely open and transparent with a publicly accessible Team Concert server
The free licenses will:
- Permit the project to operate one or more Team Concert servers as required
- Permit access to the Team Concert server and operation of any required Team Concert client software by any committers, contributors, or other people requiring access to the project's Team Concert repository or artifacts
The Rational Team Concert forum is available for questions and answers and Team Concert project work items for defects and requests for enhancements.
We recommend projects stay current on releases to ensure they have the most up to date information and code.

What others are saying
“We had our RSSOwl project data in Bugzilla, Subversion, and a Wiki, and we undertook the exercise to import this data into Rational Team Concert. The process went smoothly and the results are great.”
