TN0031: Deploying the Rational Team Concert Help WAR for internal access

Last Updated: October 30, 2008
Author: Seth Packham

Summary

The Rational Team Concert Web UI links users to an ibm.com Web site for Help contents (Help > Help Contents). If your company does not allow access to the external Web, you can deploy the Help on an internal server and configure the Help link to point users to that internal site. The Help contents can be downloaded as an incubator project from Jazz.net.

More Information

The Help is provided as a Web application archive (WAR) file that can be deployed on an application server, giving your users access to the Help on an internal server. You can then configure your Rational Team Concert Web UI to point users to your internal URL for the product Help.

To download, deploy, and configure the Help WAR:

  1. Go to the All Downloads section of the Rational Team Concert download page.
  2. Under Incubators, find the file titled Rational Team Concert Help – Deployable Web application (.war).
  3. Download the ZIP file and follow the instructions in the included readme.txt file.

The readme.txt file explains how to deploy the Web application, how to access the deployed Help with a browser, and how to configure the “Help > Help Contents” link in the Rational Team Concert Web UI to point to your internally deployed Help.
